| Saw a video about vocal thickening in S1...trying without success to do it. When i open up the track inspector, i can see NO option to transpose. Yes....i have scrolled down as someone else pointed out...but no matter what i do...i cannot find an option to transpose audio..!! MIDI... yes.. but not audio. This has been driving me nuts for 4 hours. Can someone point me in the right direction please..? | You have to select an event to see the transpose options in the inspector. |
| Scrolling might not be enough. Some items in the Inspector can still be hidden from view. There are two places in the Inspector where, if you hover your mouse pointer over them, it will change shape and allow you to drag a section header up or down to uncover any hidden items. | The problem was i had one tiny edit it the vocal phrase i was trying to tune, which hadn't been rendered. Vocal was done weeks ago & although i did regroup the audio...it wasn't enough. If i was experienced enough in S1 (or any DAW for that matter) & i was doing a tutorial on vocal thickening techniques, i would have thought including a caveat such as- transposing or fine tuning an audio clip wont work on any audio clips if there are amy edits or other processing which haven't been bounced or rendered... | Hi Mick, Split the bad vocal phrase or word on the timeline and tune it with the tune(cents) parameter in the context menu to fix it. For minor vocal tuning like that you don't really even need Melodyne. You'd want the track time-stretch parameter in the Inspector set to Solo - elastique' Pro Formant which I believe also applies to pitching. That works really well for minor vocal tuning, with no artifacts that I can hear. It doesn't have to be rendered, it happens in real time. If you need a visual guide while doing that, put a tuner plugin on the track. |
